Burundi in Review

Dear Friends
We have had a very busy three weeks!
First it was Rwanda, then Burundi and lastly Gulu (2 days ago). The following report is from Burundi:

The first impression of Burundi is the poverty of citizens; The country is ranked third poorest nation in the whole world. In war for 15 years and the country is suffering: Major means of transport is bicycles, beggars are every where and many kids go without clothing.
Our seminar was at Mulama –a village 5 kms from the Tanzanian frontier. Over 100 Pastors turned up for this training, most of them walked or came on bicycles with some travelling as far as 70 kms. There is no any form of theological training here so the leaders were very excited to have us teach. We had to teach with patience as many are not well educated.

Our biggest difficulty was to teach without traning manuals, funds were too low and we could only manage to print a few excerpts from the manual so that participants could have something to guide them during the training. Please pray that we can have enough funds to produce manuals
Pray also for Burundi that the peace they have now may be sustained. Also pray for rainfall for the farmers so crops can yield and feed the population, it was dry while we were there. Thank you for praying
Bicycles is the main means of Transport here

We are looking for a good copy machine in this Burundian shop
so we can print hand outs for participants.
Pastors lay down their tools during break time. Most of them are not used to
long class hours so we have to give enough break time
