Southern Sudan Praise Report

Dear Friends,
We got back from the Sudan Yesterday thursday. The trip was long and tiresome; 19 hours going and 23 hours returning on the bus. it rained on our way back and that disrupted our travel as trucks got stuck in the mud and blocked the way.
There is much hunger for the Word of God and huge need to equip the leaders in the Sudan. Many years of war has caused all sorts of problems for the church. There is no unity among the churches and each church looks too selfish to share with others.
Our seminar was fruitful though we had  only 10 leaders instead of the 30 expected. The leaders were so receptive to the seminar and concentrated highly during sessions. They were very interactive particularly on the  second day. The little number made them very regretful and blamed it on lack of trust between churches who had promised to bring the numbers but never showed up. Many of these were key leaders and want us to organize the seminar with their churches outside of Juba town. The trip was expensive but the Lord used it to open many doors. From this one trip we expect to do several more seminars in the nearby future.

During the seminar we seem to see the door open also to reach the Arabic Northern Sudan, I met  a few key leaders who have been pasturing churches in the Arabic North and they want to work with us to put up seminars there, I am positive about this venture and will follow it up as the Lord guides, please be praying for this.
I also want you to know that your prayers has really been helpful in this trip, we underwent a few difficulties that could have really turned so negative; in the first incident- our bus took off and left us at the Sudan immigration offices at the border; there was a 4 hour delay at the immigration/ Visa/ Passport clearance section, it went painfully slow and we stood in the line under the hot morning sun for about 4 hours before obtaining our visas, coming out we found our bus had already left several minutes ago and about 10 passengers from this same bus were left behind. We had to board another bus and tried our best to go catch up with our bags in Juba (our destination), thankfully we got our bags safe at the bus office but we could not claim our money back for the different bus we had used.
In the other incident on our way back home, about 1:40am- 210 kilometers away from Kampala, our bus hit a cow, same cow had missed being it by another truck moving in the opposite direction. After we hit it, our bus was swayed towards the other moving truck which then hit our bus at the rear end and the force threw the bus off the road, I was sleepy but by the time I woke, we were already in the bush and bus moving violently side to side, the driver fought hard to keep the bus on its wheels for some distance and finally managed- window glasses from the right side of the bus broke severely and scattered across the bus. After a few minutes we maneuvered our way back to the road and continued to the nearest police station to report the incident. Just in the twinkling of an eye was the enemy’s plan to cause mayhem but the Lord secured us, it’s the closest I have been to a crash for many years of my life. I really thank you for praying.
Our brother felix whom I am training to help teach the seminar alongside me did a good job teaching at the training, he has some key areas to strengthen so let us pray for his growth  and that he may soon be able to teach alone. Also continue to pray for the Sudan, Its my hope that the Lord may send us there again at some point!

Many blessings upon you.
